HYROX-Style Training, Every Day
The Engine program on WOD Today is built for hybrid-race athletes: running under fatigue, sled pushes and pulls, ergs, wall balls, lunges and carries. One complete session a day, free, no signup.

Races like HYROX alternate 1 km runs with functional stations, which means the decisive skill is compromised running — running well when your legs and lungs are already loaded. Training for it needs more than easy mileage:
- Running intervals — repeats at race pace and faster, with controlled rest.
- Station work — sleds, wall balls, burpee broad jumps, lunges, farmers carries and ski/row erg at race-like volumes.
- Compromised running — runs sandwiched between stations, so you practice the exact feeling of the race.
- Strength that holds up — squats, hinges and carries heavy enough to make the sled feel lighter.
Example session
5 Rounds For Time
- 500 m Row
- 20 Wall Balls (6/4 kg)
- 100 m Farmers Carry (2×24/2×16 kg)
- 20 m Sandbag Lunge (20/10 kg)
Time cap 35:00
How the week is structured
A new week is published every Sunday. The split rotates so every quality gets touched: running intervals early in the week, station conditioning and erg intervals midweek, compromised running late week, a longer race-simulation piece on Saturday and a lighter recovery day on Sunday. Sessions are sized to roughly one hour including warm-up.
No race on the calendar?
The program works as general hybrid conditioning too — it simply makes you hard to tire out. And if you want more barbell in your life, the Performance program runs in parallel: same site, switchable from the logo in the top corner, with lifting percentages explained in the 1RM chart.
